Statistical Characteristics of Seiches in Longkou Harbour

摘要: Abstract Amplitudes of seiches are generally very small in Chinese coastal waters with the exception Longkou Harbour, where some extraordinary have occurred. Tide gauge records over a period twenty-three years, including 137 maximum fluctuation greater than 40 cm, were examined. Preliminary results given here include variabilities occurrences, distributions mean periods, fluctuations, and occurrence durations, along list large seiches. In addition, an illustration seiche on 1 September 1980 293 cm is given.
