摘要: Abstract A study is made of the quenching by bromide ions fluorescence aromatic hydrocarbons anthracene, azulene, naphthalene, ovalene, perylene and triphenylene solubilized in cationic micelle cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. Quenching observed with all except perylene, indicating that lifetime has little effect on behaviour. The fact even short-lived azulene S2 rules out a mechanism involving diffusion hydrocarbon from centre to micellar surface. behaviour can, however, be explained basis channel model which distorts structure produce water-filled down quencher can penetrate. Stern-Volmer plots for are non-linear, partly due concentration ion Stern layer not directly proportional total concentration. In addition, it suggested contributions both aqueous phases important.
