摘要: Abstract The development of non-destructive techniques (NDT) for the in-service inspection railroad wheels and gauge corners was main activity NDT division VIII. 4 at BAM over last 2 years. For such different components, two were fundamentally chosen in order to fulfil end-user requirements. Firstly wheels—rim disk—should be carried out without dismantling using ultrasonic techniques. On other hand, track surface a train speed about 70 km/h should guaranteed eddy current above-mentioned tasks challenge lab staff. accessibility wheel limited due several impassable barriers as sand tubes, etc. Eddy application focused mainly on detection head check defects occurring corner rail. Investigations also showed, that types (e.g. Belgrospis, burns, short-pitch corrugations, etc.) could easily detected. Some aspects system well an overview test results are presented contribution.
