摘要: A simple and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of symmetrical unsymmetrical pyridines via NH4I-promoted cyclization ketones with DMSO NH4OAc. It was found that methyl always gave selective formation pyridine, while non-methyl unpredictable results (symmetrical or non-symmetrical product only, a mixture two). In addition, deuterium-labeling experiments indicated C4 C6 target pyridine rings resulted from DMSO.
