摘要: We have cloned and molecularly characterized the Drosophila gene stripe (sr) required for muscle-pattern formation in embryo. Through differential splicing, sr encodes two nuclear protein variants which contain a zinc finger DNA-binding domain common with early growth response (egr) family of vertebrate transcription factors. The transcripts their products are exclusively expressed epidermal muscle attachment cells ectodermal precursors, but not muscles or precursors. results suggest that activity induces subset to develop into sites provide spatial cues necessary orient myotubes along basal surface epidermis targeted cells.
