摘要: Flammability limits under stagnant initial conditions were investigated for single, binary, and ternary component fuels of H/sub 2/, CH/sub 4/, CO that premixed with air ignited at ambient temperature pressure; the primary emphasis was on lower or lean flammability, which are greatest interest in safety applications. Results suggest (1) LeChatelier mixture law approximations downward propagation uniformly conservative, (2) use upward flame any situation involving perferential diffusion could not be justified, (3) observed limit methane-air mixtures less than widely accepted this fuel, (4) hydrogen-air carbon monoxide-air agree lowest values, (5) combustion community should provided more information many practical aspects diffusional demixing.
