摘要: Abstract Objective This study was to apply the newly developed electrical impedance myography (EIM) technique examine hand muscles in patients with an incomplete cervical spinal cord injury (SCI). Methods EIM performed on thenar, hypothenar, and first dorsal interosseous (FDI) of SCI (n=16) age-matched healthy control (n=18) subjects. By sending low intensity high frequency current through skin measuring consequent voltage, estimates major parameters, which include resistance (R), reactance (X) phase angle (θ). Results The group had lower (p Conclusion reduced paralyzed could be due tochanges membrane integrity fat infiltration, whereas change anisotropy may reflect rearrangement muscle fiber geometry. Significance provides a quick convenient tool for examination alterations after SCI.
