An examination of exposure and avoidance behavior related to second-hand cigarette smoke among adolescent girls in Canada.

摘要: Background: Although rates of tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke (SHS) are declining in Canada, SHS among non-smoking adolescents remains high. This study aimed describe frequency, locations, avoidance behavior related adolescent girls British Columbia, Canada. Methods: Data were analyzed from 841 aged 13 15 years old who completed an internet-delivered survey as part a cohort examining substance use. Measures assessed demographics, smoking intentions, frequency locations exposure, SHS. Results: Excluding their own smoking, 27% reported at least once week additional 17% daily or almost over the past month. Among most frequent levels high home, near school, inside vehicle, outdoor public places. Avoidance significantly differed by overall Conclusions: Despite historically low rates, many continue report regular multiple Columbia. Girls with less likely habitual compared those frequently exposed. elucidates settings that could be targeted future policy interventions. Additionally, interventions target exposed infrequent around exposure.
