Cloning and sequencing of the gene encoding the AmpC β-lactamase of Morganella morganii

摘要: The chromosomal β-lactamase gene of a clinical isolate Morganella morganii was cloned in Escherichia coli and sequenced. had pI 7.4 conferred typical AmpC susceptibility pattern. insert obtained found to encode protein 379 amino acids. Its deduced acid sequence revealed it be class C β-lactamase: 39–56% identity with β-lactamases Serratia marcescens, Yersinia enterocolitica, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter cloacae coli; 37–56% plasmid-mediated (MOX-1, CMY-1, FOX-1, ACT-1, LAT-1, BIL-1 CMY-2). ampC linked only part which (450 bp) homologous the regulatory ampR genes β-lactamases.
