摘要: SUMMARY A small diatom, Hygropetra gelasina sp. nov., obtained from wet moss is described. This diatom similar to balfouriana (Grunow ex Cleve) Krammer & Lange-Bertalot, which was found in the same sample. Fine structural observations revealed that H. gelasina has a reduced raphe slit and depressions along margin of axial area, at proximal ends striae. Both species are characterized by multiple rows areolae each stria hexagonal pattern sub-pores Pinnularia, but differing position areola occlusions or hymenes, internal Hygropetra. Comparison with Frankophila, shares characteristics slits structure Hygropetra, provides reference for future taxonomic study these related genera.
