Clinical audit of a specialist symptomatic breast clinic.

摘要: The efficient delivery of health care requires vigilant quality assurance. We describe the audit our symptomatic breast clinic, which includes option a one-stop diagnostic service. A total 134 new and 386 follow-up patients attended over four consecutive clinics. majority referrals (68%) were seen by consultant surgeon. Urgent significantly sooner than routine (P < 0.001, chi 2-test), mean wait from designated appointment to seeing surgeon was 37.6 (range-68 171) min. One-stop investigations offered 50 patients; these, 36 women (72%) had less 2 h. For those not investigated at same time until 6.1 (range 0-36) days recall 2.7 1-8) weeks. Patients undergoing definitive surgery for cancer (n = 5) operated on average 14.2 7-27) after decision made in outpatients, while waiting non-cancer operations 49.7 15-98) days. Objective outpatient services is possible can lead improvement services.
