摘要: Abstract Water, sediment and panned concentrate from active streams, together with some mosses well waters, all the vicinity of old Au operations in North Carolina, were analyzed to determine extent pollution metallic Hg introduced into these areas 1800s early 1900s by modern “weekend panners”. Heavy mineral concentrates, grains, moss found be indicators pollution, concentrations up 784,000 μg/kg heavy 7400 sediments, 4900 moss. Surficial spots on grains contained as much 44.8% Hg. Analyses fish tissue several drainage channels did not indicate values below Carolina average 210 μg/kg. Mercury stream waters LLD 0.2 μg/l. In concentrates appear best
