摘要: Background Because the number of elderly people is rapidly increasing, reference values for physical abilities necessary to independently conduct daily activities are crucial promoting good health. Although a few studies have reported functional tests relating these abilities, all those were derived from populations in developed countries, which baseline demographic and anthropometric characteristics different Thai people. Objective The purpose this study was describe 5 performance who functioning well dwelling community. Design A cross-sectional design used study. Methods total 1,030 cross-sectionally assessed their with tests: 10-Meter Walk Test, Berg Balance Scale, Timed “Up & Go” Five Times Sit-to-Stand Six-Minute Test. data descriptive statistics according decade age sex. Differences among decades between sexes analyzed 1-way analysis variance an independent-sample t test, respectively. Multiple linear regression analyses determine important abilities. Results Most found performance-based measures lower than previously reported, significant trend toward age- sex-related decline. Weight height contributors level ability. Limitations Only individuals older 90 years participated study. Therefore, findings combined participants aged 80 89 years. Conclusions described here may be useful as people. Health practitioners can use information identify impairments early promote independence other similar characteristics, such Association South East Asian Nations.
