摘要: Pressure ulcers, also termed pressure sores, bedsores or decubitus, are a serious complication which is typical of patients with impaired motosensory capacities, and those confined to wheelchair bed for long periods. There medical evidence associating severe ulcers life-threatening conditions including sepsis, osteomyelitis, myocardial infarcts, renal failure multiple organ system failure. The American National Ulcer Advisory Panel recently defined deep tissue injury (DTI) as particularly type ulcer onsets internally, in skeletal muscle overlying weight-bearing bony prominences. A DTI spreads subdermally often develops full-thickness ulcer, i.e. it evolves into an open wound that extends from skin bone. This chapter focused on anthropometric features increase internal mechanical loading adjacent prominences, therefore, the risk DTI. ischial tuberosities pelvis being considered herein main example this interaction. Specifically, reviews effects whole-body measures, such bodyweight body mass index, well characteristics, e.g. thickness gluteus muscles envelop tuberosities, curvature tissue, consequent
