摘要: The identification of orthologs-genes in different species which descended from the same gene their last common ancestor-is a prerequisite for many analyses comparative genomics and molecular evolution. Numerous algorithms resources have been conceived to address this problem, but benchmarking interpreting them is fraught with difficulties (need compare on input dataset, absence ground truth, computational cost calling orthologs). To this, Quest Orthologs consortium maintains reference set proteomes provides web server continuous orthology (http://orthology.benchmarkservice.org). Furthermore, consensus ortholog calls derived public benchmark submissions are provided Alliance Genome Resources website, joint portal NIH-funded model organism databases.
