摘要: Since 1945 the prices paid for Common Seal skins have encouraged competitive sealing in Shetland, bringing about £5,000 to islands each year. Hunting has increased intensity and most of pups born year are now killed. A general decline numbers adults become noticeable, as large a numerical proportion two-thirds some colonies disappeared last decade.
