The role of perfectionism, dichotomous thinking, shape and weight overvaluation, and conditional goal setting in eating disorders

摘要: Abstract This study examined the role of perfectionism (self-oriented and socially prescribed), shape weight overvaluation, dichotomous thinking, conditional goal setting in eating disorder psychopathology. Perfectionism overvaluation have had longstanding implication development maintenance disorders. A leading evidence-based theory disorders (Fairburn, Cooper & Shafran, 2003) outlines as a maintaining mechanism psychopathology proximal risk factor for overvaluation. These constructs been linked to other cognitive processes relevant disorders, specifically, thinking setting. Women with DSM-IV (N = 238) were compared women general community (N = 248) and, hypothesised, scores on measures these pronounced clinical sample. Hierarchical regression analyses predicting showed that both groups, significantly improved model fit beyond alone.
