摘要: Abstract Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a strong greenhouse gas that produced in significant quantities through biological nitrogen removal processes wastewater treatment plants; however, N2O generation within the internal micro-environment of activated sludge flocs (ASFs) poorly understood. In this study, microelectrodes and molecular techniques were employed to investigate concentrations other chemicals composition distribution microbes ASFs, respectively. The results showed was correlated with ASF micro-environment, significantly influenced by dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration bulk wastewater. Equal N2O, DO, NH4+–N, NO3−–N found small ( 200 μm) compared those at their surfaces. Microbial structures varying particle sizes distinct depended on micro-environmental characteristics.
