摘要: The composition and distribution of squid fish collected by Rectangular Midwater Trawls in the upper 200 m were investigated during BROKE-West (Baseline Research on Oceanography, Krill Environment-West) survey (January-March 2006) CCAMLR Subdivision 58.4.2 Southern Ocean. A total 332 individuals collected, with most abundant species being Pleuragramma antarcticum (34%), Notolepis coatsi (27%) Electrona antarctica (26%); Galiteuthis glacialis (64%). Abundances all among lowest recorded using this type gear. Cluster analysis revealed two distinct communities: a notothenioid-dominated coastal community an oceanic dominated mesopelagic squid. Environmental factors related to segregation explored Redundancy Analysis (RDA). notothenioid P. was associated shallow areas high chlorophyll concentrations. Larval stages E. antarctica, N. G. found over deeper water positively correlated higher temperatures deeper-reaching mixed layer. Postmetamorphic caught mostly after sunset negatively solar elevation. observation densities eastern part sampling area reflects temporal rather than geographical effect. Samples three fishes, coatsi, analysed for gut content. All fed variety mesozooplankton including copepods, amphipods euphausiids, which is consistent previous reports similar life stages. Mean body energy density highest (27 kJ g-1), while it (22 g-1). content emphasizing importance as food resource top predators
