摘要: Acquired epileptiform aphasia (AEA) is characterized by deterioration in language childhood associated with seizures or electroencephalographic abnormalities. Despite an extensive literature, discrepancies and contradictions surround its definition nosological boundaries. This paper reviews current conceptions of AEA highlights variations the aphasic disturbance, age onset, EEG abnormalities, temporal course, long-term outcome. We suggest that AEA, rather than being a discrete entity, comprised multiple variants have common features regression changes on EEG. Viewed this way, we argue can be conceptualized spectrum other neurocognitive disorders may share pathophysiological features. The implications viewpoint are discussed, emphasis parallels between regressive autistic disorders.
