摘要: Currently, the extent of use wild relatives in breeding programs depends on 1) how crop is, 2) desperate situation 3) pressures to turn out new cultivars, 4) availability materials, 5) difficulty use, and 6) character plant breeder institution which he works. Wild rdatives have been used as sources disease, insect, nematode resistance, widen adaptation, provide alternate cytoplasms develop cytoplasmic sterility systems, improve quality, alter modes reproduction, induce short stature, increase crossability between species, resistance stress, yield. Some crops could not mainain commercial status without genetic support their relatives. The principal bottleneck at present is paucity materials our collections. In future, need for variability shall drive us a much fuller exploitation all resources we can assemble.
