摘要: Summary Eight synthetic compounds related to the photosensitive antiviral quinonic plant compound hypericin were screened for light-mediated activity. The 2,5,9,12-tetra(carboxyethylthiomethyl) was found have activity against membrane-enveloped Sindbis virus and murine cytomegalovirus but not non-enveloped poliovirus. of this investigated in more detail. mechanism action appeared be singlet oxygen type could reduced by presence a quencher molecule. membrane proteins altered treatment with or hypericin, although derivative did affect electrophoretic mobility capsid protein.
