摘要: Heparin is one of the main pharmaceutical products manufactured from raw animal material. In order to describe viral burden associated with this material, we performed high-throughput sequencing (HTS) on mucus samples destined for heparin manufacturing, which were collected European pigs. We identified Circoviridae and Parvoviridae members as most prevalent contaminating viruses, together viruses Picornaviridae, Astroviridae, Reoviridae, Caliciviridae, Adenoviridae, Birnaviridae, Anelloviridae families. Putative new species also identified. The load several known or novel small non-enveloped are particularly difficult inactivate eliminate during processing, was quantified by qPCR. Analysis combined HTS specific qPCR results will influence refining validation inactivation procedures, well aiding in risk analysis contamination.
