摘要: SUMMARY: The wax esters of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus strains NCIB 8250 and 10487 harvested at stationary phase from N-limited batch cultures were extracted shown to consist C14 C18 saturated mono-unsaturated alkan-l-ols randomly esterified with fatty acids. components contained a cis Δ9 double bond. Wax ester content strain increased under conditions low growth rate in continuous culture carbon energy source excess. high was lowered by incubation the absence converted water-soluble materials CO2. It is proposed that A. endogenous present cells can serve as an reserve. All 19 tested some 16 these had contents when cultures, it appears are widespread, but not universal, storage genus Acinetobacter.
