摘要: Computer-based optimization simulations have made significant contributions to the improvement of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) treatment planning. Large amounts data are typically involved in problems. Regardless formulation used, problem size is always biggest challenge overcome. The most common strategy address this sampling which may a impact on quality results. There few studies for therapy, mostly devoted propose new approaches that accelerate IMRT optimization. However, gain computational time comes at cost: as becomes progressively coarse, solution deteriorates. A clinical example head and neck case used discuss influence design, emphasizing parotid sparing. Procedures choice adequate sample rate highlighted.
