摘要: Intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) can improve dose distributions through the treated breast and also reduce radiation doses to adjacent normal tissues including contralateral breast, heart lung with appropriate planning. Analyses demonstrate that quality of distribution does affect clinical results, outcomes are enhanced improved planning delivery methods. To achieve these it is essential carefully define tissue volumes for treatment or avoidance, select technologies potentially conform fields those volumes, use comprehensive methods, assess their results in terms objective constraints. IMRT be used boost region tumor excision concurrently whole treatment, an approach now being evaluated on-going studies. Partial irradiation (PBI) has been proposed as alternative entire early-stage cancer patients undergoing conservation treatment. Numerous single institution phase II studies have demonstrated promising American Society Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) defined a suitable group low-risk PBI off protocol at this time. 3D conformal (3DCRT) external beam conformality target sparing tissues. There increasing number institutions evaluating using instead 3DCRT because potential advantages patient.
