摘要: The selective partial oxidation of short chain alkanes is a key challenge within catalysis research. Direct ethane to oxygenates difficult aim, but potentially rewarding, and it could lead paradigm shift in the supply several bulk chemicals. Unfortunately, low C–H bond reactivity kinetically labile products are just some reasons affecting development commercialisation such processes. Research into direct therefore disparate, with approaches ranging from gas phase at high temperatures enzyme catalysed hydroxylation under ambient conditions. Furthermore, overcoming barrier posed by chemically inert range oxidants have been utilised. Despite years research, this remains an intriguing topic both academic commercial perspectives. Herein we describe recent developments field catalytic focusing on formation oxygenated products, whilst addressing challenges which still be overcome.
