摘要: The current study presents the effect of process chemistry as well climate conditions on water balance a heap leach operation for black-schist ore. research is based actual at Terrafame (former Talvivaara) mine site in Finland during years 2017 and 2018 (base case). In addition, scenarios with deviation climatic (Antofagasta case), (non-heat generation case) effects change (RCP4.5 (representative concentration pathway) case RCP8.5 were investigated. first case, annual precipitation evaporation simulated highly arid such Antofagasta Mountains, whereas second an assumption was made no excess heat (exothermic reactions) reactions. base predicted requirement 9,000,000 m3 discharge from heaviest rainfall. therefore footprint plant shown to be dependent conditions, low zero. Heat generation, typical reactions dominating boreal operation, vital management operations Nordic (the non-heat where nearly threefold compared (2018). If ore body resided Antofagasta, freshwater consumption would over eight times Finland. Climate show that changing increase range variation but only need by 5% wettest years, while raw utilization 46 83% driest years. general, results highlight issues related mass energy nickel process, feasibility—showing although ore- process-specific, surrounding environment (precipitation, temperature) geographical location.
