摘要: Previously, we have shown that anabolic androgenic steroid (AAS) exposure throughout adolescence stimulates offensive aggression while also reducing anxious behaviors during the period. Interestingly, AAS through development correlates with alterations to serotonin system in regions known contain 5HT3 receptors influence control of both and anxiety. Despite these effects, little is about whether separate developmental AAS-induced behavioral occur as a function common neuroanatomical locus. To begin address this question, localized been implicated examine impact may on behavior, microinjected agonist mCPBG directly into region know for its over aggressive lateral division anterior hypothalamus, recorded using elevated plus maze. primarily reduced presence aggression/anxiety regions. Accordingly, blocked anxiolytic effects adolescent exposure. These data suggest receptor plays critical role circuit modulating changes behaviors, further implicates hypothalamus an important center negative AAS-exposure.
