摘要: Abstract Characteristic surface textures of phospholipid monolayers at an air/water interface in the gel/fluid phase coexistence range are observed by fluorescence microscopy, and quantitatively analyzed. Following a nucleation period hexagonal superlattice gel domains is established. On progressive gelation order this gradually increases. Long-range interactions inhibit within critical distance about 10 μm from existing domain. Exact correlation between isotherm demonstrates that latter influenced interdomain for molecular areas below 50 A2.
