摘要: The PR-factor, an enzyme necessary for the production of protoplasts from yeast, was identified and named phosphomannanase. released mannan mannan-proteins yeasts harvested in logarithmic phase growth. size molecules greater than 200,000 daltons, which indicated that splits very few bonds yeast wall. PR-factor also depolymerized phosphomannans produced by Hansenula species. degradation these substances due to splitting mannosidic bonds. However, phosphodiester present were involved specificity enzyme, number cleaved dependent on present. We studied products unable identify exact bond split enzyme. After enzymatic digestion subsequent bonds, phosphomannan Y-2448 yielded too complex be separated. Phosphomannan Y-1842 shown have a structure more previously proposed. action phosphate-rich walls Saccharomyces studied. Mannan, containing intact walls. Mild acid hydrolysis this material diester yield monosaccharide polysaccharide terminated mannose-6-phosphate. From products, we deduced adjacent mannose, is linked through carbon 1. significance attachment mannan-protein enzymes wall discussed.
