摘要: This paper describes how to engage actively students in web information retrieval and filtering course using open source programming. To teach this course, I utilized hands-on lab projects from various including the Galago search engine. Projects included, but were not limited to, implementing (IR) algorithms, collaborative (CF) web-based interfaces, adding features into an open-source By practicing with real-world programming, found that they better understood connect background knowledge applications preparation for industry jobs.
