摘要: The corrosion behavior of three Ti–Al intermetallics containing 20, 30, and 40 wt.% Al was studied over the temperature range 800–1000°C in a H2/H2S/H2O gas mixture. Ti–20Al Ti–40Al alloys had single-phase structure Ti3Al TiAl, respectively, while Ti–30Al two-phase mixture Ti3Al+TiAl. kinetics followed parabolic rate law all cases, regardless alloy composition. constants increased with increasing temperature, but decreased content. exhibited best resistance among studied. scales formed on were heterophasic duplex, consisting an outer-scale layer pure α-TiO2 inner minor amounts α-Al2O3 Til-xS. amount α-Al2O3, which content, is responsible for reduction rates as compared those Ti oxides.
