摘要: Knowledge of seasonal climate change is one the key issues facing Quaternary paleoclimatic studies and estimating difficult, especially changes such as length on glacial-interglacial timescales. The stable isotope composition from land snail shells provides potential to reveal climatic features. Two modern species, cold-aridiphilous Pupilla aeoli thermo-humidiphilous Punctum orphana, were collected different zones in 18 localities across Chinese Loess Plateau, spanning 11 degrees longitude covering a range 1000 km2. duration growing season (temperature ⩾10°C) was shorter (202 ± 6 d) eastern Plateau compared with western (162 ±7 d). δ13C P. −9.1‰ −4.7‰ −5.0‰ 0.3‰ for δ18O. For ranged −1.9‰ −8.9‰ −2.9‰ Both δ18O differences between two species reduced east (2.8‰ 0.2 1.1‰ 4.7‰ 2.9 1.3‰ δ18O). These isotopic roughly reflect difference lengths west indicating that shortens by 15 d or 19 if decreases 1‰ δ18O, respectively. Thus, both can be used past. Based our investigation, seasons Xifeng region during last 75 ka reconstructed. During mid-Holocene (8–3 ka), mean reached maximum values 2.6 0.7‰ 2.1 1.4‰ This followed MIS 3 2.5 0.4‰ 1.6 0.8‰ Last Glacial Maximum changed only 0.2‰ Therefore, we estimate ∼200 10 mid-Holocene, 190 160 glacial period.
