摘要: OBJECTIVE. In dual-energy CT (DECT), two datasets are acquired with different x-ray spectra. These spectra generated using tube potentials, partially also additional filtration at 140 kVp. Spectral information can be resolved by layer detectors or quantum-counting detectors. Several technical approaches—that is, sequential acquisition, rapid voltage switching, dual-source (DSCT), detector, detector—offer spectral contrast and dose efficiency. Various postprocessing algorithms readily provide clinically relevant information. CONCLUSION. DECT offers the possibility to exploit for diagnostic purposes. There approaches, all of which have inherent advantages disadvantages, especially regarding numerous clinical applications that easily accessible specific algorithms.
