摘要: Several studies have shown that selection of purebreds for increased performance their crossbred descendants under field conditions is hampered by low genetic correlations between purebred and commercial (CC) performance. Although this can be addressed including phenotypic data from CC relatives through combined (CCPS), also increases rates inbreeding requires comprehensive systems collection pedigrees at the level. This study shows both these limitations overcome with marker-assisted (MAS) using estimates effects markers on To evaluate potential benefits CC-MAS, a model to incorporate marker information in strategies was developed based index theory, which allows prediction responses standard deterministic theory. Assuming correlation 0.7 breeding program representing terminal sire line pigs, CC-MAS substantially increase response reduce compared CCPS, 60 half sibs available each candidate. When accuracy marker-based EBV 0.6, resulted 34 10% greater than CCPS. Corresponding were 1.4% per generation 2.1% 3.0% For an 0.9, 75 43% further reduced 1.0% generation. Selection derived phenotypes less CC-MAS. In conclusion, effective use MAS effect performance, such enables more without need extensive pedigree recording while reducing inbreeding.
