摘要: Dam removal has been increasingly reported globally and is becoming an important approach for river management, restoration environmental conservation in damming rivers. However, current limited knowledge of global trends dam related research may be potentially biased terms the geographic distribution organisms studied. Such bias could mislead planning management different areas ecological taxa. In this study, we quantitatively qualitatively analyzed datasets publications using bibliometric methods. A total 1449 documents were published from 1953 to 2016. Trends, hotspots future directions identified. The results study reveal that largely occurred North America Europe, most removed dams small old dams. With respect topic analysis, more studies should focus on responses a wide range organisms, not only fish, as well interspecies relationships, food webs ecosystem structures functions. Based our findings, also provide some suggestions analysis.
