摘要: Background. Foamed sclerosing agents have been used with enthusiasm by phlebologists for more than 5 decades. Any type of varicose veins can and has treated this technique. Numerous publications stressed the advantages foamed on basis empiric experimental criteria described various individual techniques to prepare foams. Until now, however, no comparative study treatment large foam or liquid exists. Objective. The purpose first randomized, prospective, multicenter trial was elimination reflux, rate recanalization, possible side effects sclerotherapy (FS) compared conventional greater saphenous vein (GSV). Methods. Eighty-eight patients were randomized into two groups: One group (45 patients) other (43 cases). Sclerotherapy performed direct puncture vessel under duplex guidance. reference agent polidocanol in a 3% solution. prepared using Double Syringe System (DSS) method. Only one injection 2.0 2.5 mL allowed, depending diameter GSV. Results assessed according protocol. Results. Follow-up after 3 weeks showed 84% reflux GSV DSS versus 40% sclerosant (P < 0.01). At 6 months, six recanalizations found group. After 1 year, additional recanalization observed either liquid. Longer term studies are underway. Side did not differ between both groups. Conclusion. efficacy therapy is superior, finding that had already gained empirical recognition but which there any clinical evidence date.
