摘要: A multi-faceted approach must be considered in developing an experimental strategy to determine the role of carbohydrate-binding proteins (or lectins) and oligosaccharides regulation neuronal architecture. Numerous studies provide indirect evidence that interactions between cell surface regulate various aspects development (reviewed Jessell et al. 1990). Unfortunately, no simple single experiment will demonstrate this type carbohydrate interaction is involved formation nervous system. Only a combination approaches, as used nonneuronal systems, provides strong direct for recognition carbohydrates by during cell-cell (Ofek Sharon 1988; Shur 1989; Yednock Rosen 1989). This multi-dimensional involves masking suspected oligosaccharide with antibodies or lectins which bind specific antigens; altering structure enzymes remove add saccharides; blocking binding protein competing saccharides. Obtaining at least three independent lines necessary regulating
