摘要: Abstract Fifteen conventional 8-week-old pigs were used to compare the morphology and function of Peyer's patches (PP) in different parts small intestine with special emphasis on dome epithelium (DE). The comparisons done by morphological observation through light electron microscopy, ability DE complex phagocytize horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Dome PP jejunum was more superficially located mucosa comparison ileum. DE's ileum much smaller, an area 3.7 μm2/DE, than that (18.4 μm2/DE). number areas/5 cm2 jejunum. However, total surface DE/5 PP, larger (180.5 μm2) (55.6 μm2). Brown discoloration diaminobenzidine-hydrogenperoxide (DAB+H2O2)-treated specimens, after HRP inoculation, intensified post-inoculation time from 20 s 5 min. brown pigment first appeared microvilli infiltrated into dome. No differences observed between 1 μm thick Epon-embedded specimens. Intramucosally, almost always found areas. pigmented areas numerous but color intensity showed no obvious difference. By transmission dense materials (which interpreted as products DAB+H2O2) membraneous (M) cells, intercellular spaces DE, a form similar intracytoplasmic vesicles cytoplasm M-cell lymphocytes. Our results confirmed had stronger phagocytic activity did ordinary villous epithelium. This evidence indicates swine is immunologically important.
