摘要: OBJECTIVE The purpose was to investigate long-term prognosis of epilepsy unknown cause with onset between ages 2 and 16 in children without any major disability, by evaluation a previously described prognostic model follow-up study on the impact duration initial antiseizure medication (ASM) treatment. METHODS Patients included randomized controlled trial (RCT) either one or three years ASM therapy prior withdrawal (if seizure-free for at least 6 months) were contacted after 29-35 years asked complete survey. Potential factors evaluated: treatment, seizure type, frequency, score developed publication. RESULTS One hundred forty-nine subjects answered questionnaire (response rate 65%). Seizure freedom treatment found 110 responders (77%, 95%CI: 73-81). There no significant difference follow-up. Those active unemployed significantly more often perceived their mental health affected than those CONCLUSIONS Duration not associated subsequent risk. This indicates that timing attempts is unlikely alter uncomplicated childhood epilepsy. failure from predict outcome argues although prediction relapse risk shorter term may be possible, bearing such models questionable.
