摘要: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is among the most common psychiatric conditions, and responsible for substantial human morbidity worldwide. The last two decades have seen significant progress in our understanding of neural circuits driving MDD, which now increasingly understood as a disorder circuitry. success deep brain stimulation (DBS) modulator circuit dysfunction motor disorders such Parkinson’s Disease has generated interest it’s use other circuit-based including MDD. result been resurgence surgery refractory mood disorders, where advances functional imaging helped identify key anatomic targets critical notes circuit. This chapter reviews history major depression, rationale focal neuromodulation condition, provides summary clinical experience DBS MDD to date.
