摘要: This paper reports on a detailed phytosociological analysis of forests in the NW catchment Gola River Kumaun Himalaya, 29°19′–29°27′N and 79°32′–79°42′E. Fourteen sites 56 stands at elevations ranging from 1200 to 2523 m covering following five forest types were investigated: Pinus roxburghii, mixed, Quercus leucotrichophora, Q. lanuginosa, floribunda. The basal cover differed according slope position aspect. three oak had more than other two, lanuginosa most. performance individual tree shrub species number saplings seedlings mixed greatest diversity, among others diversity increased with increasing cover. trees, saplings, herb layer was aspects intermediate temperature moisture conditions; whereas that shrubs towards cooler (and wetter) warmer drier) exposures. There positive relation between plus trees P. roxburghii forests; this relationship inverse forests. In general, dominance-diversity curves for followed geometric series conforming niche pre-emption situation communities low diversity. Among forests, regeneration best worst leucotrichophora.
