摘要: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most prevalent of all repetitive strain injuries (RSIs). The Bureau Labor Statistics [1] determined that there was an average 26,972 reported cases CTS annually, between years 1992 and 2006, in private industry. To understand effects computer use has on CTS, it necessary to identify movements involved performing everyday tasks such as typing mouse usage. Motion analysis techniques were employed determine these while a task. This markers being placed knuckles, wrists forearms participants. con figuration allowed for flexion, extension, radial deviation ulnar wrist be calculated. results categorized one plane motion with 20Σ extension prominent posture. common position two planes also calculated Ext20°Ulnar15° (20° 15° deviation) accounting over 3.5% (3.6%) total posture during study positions found provide accurate representation use. From this more exact indication used have been identified. suggest should considered when calculating impact may bearing carpal pressure (CTP) created.
