摘要: Normalized radar cross sections and modulation transfer functions (MTFs) for microwave backscattering from the sea surface have been measured at both L- Ku- Bands during Tower Ocean Wave Radar Dependence Experiment. Long waves experiment were usually not generated by local wind, so a unique opportunity was afforded to investigate effects of arbitrary wave, antenna angles on backscatter. Data collected using horizontal polarization Band vertical Band. Cross are shown be isotropic with respect wind-antenna angle nearly independent wind speed except lowest speeds. sections, other hand, show expected anisotropy dependence. The agree well in magnitude previous wave-tank satellite measurements, casting doubt dependence section height which has suggested literature. At frequencies data suggest that may lowered slightly when long propagate large wind. Consistent results, MTFs depend little speed, while those decrease speed. These results studies. frequencies, constant wave-antenna angle. On angle, increasing Implications these imagery theoretical interpretation origin discussed.
