摘要: Measurements of the normalized radar cross section (/spl sigma//spl deg/) made by YSCAT ultrawideband scatterometer during an extended deployment on Canada Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) Research Tower located at Lake Ontario are analyzed and compared with anemometer wind measurements to study sensitivity /spl deg/ speed as a function Bragg wavelength. This paper concentrates upwind downwind azimuth angles in range 4.5-12 m/s. While collected variety frequencies incidence angles, this focuses 2.0, 3.05, 5.30, 10.02, 14.0 GHz within regime, 30-50/spl deg/. Adopting power law model describe relationship between speed, both exponents upwind/downwind (u/d) ratios found using least squares linear regression. The analysis u/d show that shorter wavelengths Lambda/<4 cm) most sensitive direction. Additionally, vertical polarization (V-pol) is shown be more than horizontal (H-pol) sigma/, while H-pol ratio larger V-pol ratio.
