摘要: Context In recent years, point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has become a widely used clinical tool in number of specialties. response, POCUS been incorporated into medical curricula across the learning continuum, bolstered by enthusiastic appraisals technology's benefits for learners, clinicians and patients. this project, we have sought to identify understand effects dominant discourses influencing integration education. Methods We conducted Foucauldian critical discourse analysis (CDA) analyse that legitimise privilege use assembled an archive 473 texts published between 1980 2017. Each article was analysed frequently occurring truth statements (expressing concepts whose truths are unquestioned within particular discourses) characterise major construct representations Results identified three discourses: (i) visuo-centric prioritising visual information as over other data; (ii) utilitarian emphasising improvements patient care; (iii) modernist highlighting current future needs our technological world. These overlap converge; core discursive effect makes further elevation education, resulting attenuation curricular priorities, appear inevitable. Conclusions The paper engender ideal conditions proliferation education through guidelines, surveys adherence these guidelines authoritative position statements.
