摘要: Heart attacks are the cause for majority of deaths in industrialized world. The underlying most these is rupture vulnerable plaque. As this day, no widely accepted clinical tool exists detecting plaques that prone to rupture, although several techniques being investigated. This thesis gives an overview detection modalities have been proposed plaque with special emphasis on three methods, diffuse reflection spectroscopy, thermography and multiphoton microscopy.
