摘要: The global marine fish catch is approaching its upper limit. number of overfished populations, as well the indirect effects fisheries on ecosystems, indicate that management has failed to achieve a principal goal, sustainability. This failure primarily due continually increasing harvest rates in response incessant sociopolitical pressure for greater harvests and intrinsic uncertainty predicting will cause population collapse. A more holistic approach incorporating interspecific interactions physical environmental influences would contribute sustainability by reducing predictions. However, transforming process reduce influence holds immediate promise.
