Transport of electrons and positrons impinging on solid targets: A comparative study performed by using a Monte Carlo simulation

摘要: Abstract Using the Monte Carlo simulation technique, behaviour of electrons and positrons when impinging on solid targets has been investigated. The examined particle energy range is 1–5 keV. For that purpose elastic scattering based exact cross sections effective crystalline potentials whereas inelastic processes are described by Penn model Ashley theory for electrons, respectively. obtained results aluminium, silver gold semi-infinite compared with available experimental theoretical data reported in literature. Very good agreement observed between our findings experiment. differences similarities penetration backscattering features have discussed.
